Welcome to CAPEC
The Conference of Asia Pacific Express Carriers (CAPEC) was established in 1996 to represent the interests in Asia of the world’s leading integrated express delivery services companies: DHL, FedEx, TNT and UPS.
“Connectivity” is a critical aspect of a country´s competitive advantage in a global economy based on networks – the conduits for the flow of goods, services, capital, information and ideas around the world. As economies seek to strengthen their integration to the global economy and engineer the upgrading of their manufacturing and services sectors, businesses increasingly demand fast and reliable links to international markets and supply chains. Express delivery services, one of the world´s fastest growing sectors in supply chain connectivity, provides these vital links by offering value-added, door-to-door transport and delivery of next-day or expedited time-definite shipments, including documents, parcels and merchandise goods. It is a great catalyst for trade and investment, in particular, the modern, higher value-add and export-focused businesses, and generates multiplier effects for the wider socio-economy. Beyond supporting worldwide business operations with the transportation of goods and services from the manufacturer or service provider to the customer or end-user, express delivery services also help businesses win contracts or ‘seal the deal’ through the urgent conveyance of marketing materials, designs, samples, contracts and documents.
An effective public-private partnership forms the important bridge between government policies and private-sector needs. CAPEC works closely with governments, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders in constructive partnerships to: (1) develop a conducive business and regulatory environment for the EDS industry and our customers; and (2) facilitate economic growth and integration to the global economy.
